COFFEE TABLE

The Cantilevered Coffee Table is the signature piece in Livia Shi's "Defying Gravity" high end, contemporary furniture line. The table's main feature is a cantilevered table top that extends eight inches from the table's edge. The table spans about 4'-6" in length and has three cantilevered 2-½" high shelves that are predominantly designed to house magazines & medium sized books. In between the 2-½" shelves is a larger cantilevered shelf that houses two sliding, translucent gray colored glass doors. In addition, there is a 2-½" thick glass viewing strip on the table top & the shelving directly below. Both strips of glass span about three quarters of the width of the table top or respective shelf. In addition, the table comes with under cabinet lighting, which illuminates these glass strips and gives the curious spectator a special glimpse of any display shelf items below. From most angles, the supporting acrylic rods are barely noticeable and the cantilevered surfaces appear to be "floating" on air.
